Overview

Micklegate View, Micklegate

This large Grade II listed family house with 3 bedrooms spread over 3 floors is beautifully decorated and a real retreat close to the city centre.  The house can accommodate up to 6 guests, which can be extended to 8 (see separate listing for Micklegate View 8) if the adjoining apartment is available.

Located on Micklegate, the house is flooded with light from the corner location next to Holy Trinity Church, with views up the street and the large trees outside the church.  Micklegate can be a lively street close to the city centre, but the house remains a peaceful haven with secondary glazing to all the living and bedroom areas.  Micklegate is only a short walk from the main centre of York, but also has some notable bars and restaurants we would highly recommend, from Skosh to Partisan and fantastic coffee from Divine Coffee just opposite the house.

Nearest parking for this house would be the council run carpark on Nunnery Lane, or the train station long stay carpark.  There is also a NCP carpark on Tanner Row close by.

Location

Micklegate

Micklegate is one of York’s most famous historic streets, once the main ceremonial entrance into the city. Kings and queens processed through Micklegate Bar, the impressive medieval gateway that still stands today. The street itself is lined with period buildings, independent shops, and a thriving mix of pubs, restaurants, and cafés. Just a short walk from York station, Micklegate combines rich history with a lively modern atmosphere, making it a popular base for visitors.
