We are a family run business based close to the centre of York, on Micklegate. Jools and I have lived in York for over 30 years, and watched the city develop into an amazing cultural centre – steeped in history with fantastic restaurants and pubs, and many festivals throughout the year – we want to share this wonderful little city with you.
Whether you are visiting friends or family, based at one of the two universities in the city, or simply coming to York to explore the many attractions of this deeply historic city with a strong foodie culture, we have a property to suit your needs. We can provide advice and recommendations and support you during your stay with us.

Wheelwrights York is closely linked to our Lake District business, which has been established in the area for over 40 years and has been under the current ownership since 2015. Operating from Elterwater, at the heart of Great Langdale, the Lake District team manages a carefully selected collection of cottages and rural retreats across some of the region’s most sought after locations.
