This remarkable historic home on Chapter House Street enjoys an unrivalled position beside York Minster, with stunning views of both the Minster itself and the beautiful gardens of the Treasurer’s House. Tucked away on the corner of a quiet cobbled lane behind St William’s College, the property offers an enviable central location with vehicle access (please note, however, that there is no parking available).
The house comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests across three generously sized bedrooms.
The living spaces are equally impressive. A spacious sitting room and an elegant dark wood-panelled dining room provide wonderful settings for relaxing and entertaining. The large kitchen, complete with a central island and separate breakfast table, is ideal for gathering together – and each of these rooms enjoys exceptional views, as shown in the photographs. A separate utility room with washing machine and pantry storage sits just off the kitchen. On the ground floor, you’ll also find a games room with a pool table, along with a WC and shower.
Chapter House is just steps from the Minster, around the corner from Minster Yard, and only a few minutes’ walk from Petergate and the main city centre. While the property does not have its own outdoor seating area, guests can stroll around the corner to the open space in front of St William’s College, where picnic tables are available, perfect for enjoying a coffee from one of the excellent nearby cafés.
For larger gatherings, we offer several properties in the same location that can be booked alongside Chapter House. Round the corner, Church House provides the added benefit of parking and a spacious open-plan living area, ideal for spending time together and across the road Ogleforth is another beautiful option, brimming with character and historic charm.
